The French Republic Human Rights Prize, 2020 Edition – Call for applications [fr]
The French National Consultative Commission for Human Rights declares applications open for the 2020 Edition of the French Republic Human Rights prize.
This prize is awarded in recognition and support for the completion of individual or collective projects which work to promote and protect human rights regardless of nationality or borders.
For its 33rd edition the CNCDH wants to focus on the ongoing world health crisis and the climate emergency .
Applications must be sent before 18 October 2020.
The prize will be awarded to a candidate for one on those two following themes:
Theme 1: The right to health and the fight against exclusions
In 2020 the Covid-19 crisis has highlighted and increased inequalities regarding access to healthcare everywhere in the world. For this reason, the CNCDH will reward those who fight for the right to health for vulnerable people, those who fight against exclusions or those protecting whistleblowers in the field of healthcare.
Theme 2: The protection of the environment and biodiversity
Consequences of the environmental crisis on human rights are numerous and alarming. For this edition, the CNCDH decided to reward NGOs or individuals who protect the environment and biodiversity, as well as those who protect whistleblowers in the field of ecology.
Each candidate or NGO should present an application that includes a field initiative or project to be implemented in France or abroad.
