The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine received the news of the death of ex-President of the French Republic Valery Giscard d’Estaing - a politician who went down in history as the creator of the G7 and one of the initiators of the current structure of the European Union.
During the seven-year presidency of Valery Giscard d’Estaing, important social and economic reforms were carried out in France which gave positive effects, the age of majority and the right to vote was lowered, the criminal penalty for abortion was abolished, the economy was liberalized, plans to build a network of high-speed electric trains were developed, the development of nuclear energy - and the first steps in the development of information technology.
On behalf of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine and on my own behalf, I express my condolences to the family and relatives of Valery Giscard d’Estaing.

J’adresse toutes mes condoléances à la famille du président Giscard d’Estaing.
Je fus son adversaire politique résolu lors de ma jeunesse.
Le temps passé m’a aidé à prendre de la distance et je lui sais gré, entre autres, d’avoir conduit une grande politique industrielle initiée sous de Gaulle. Téléphone, TGV, nucléaire.
Son point de vue de Sirius et son intelligence vont nous manquer pour nous aider à penser le difficile temps présent.
Et puis Giscard, c’était le temps de ma jeunesse, c’est à dire celui de l’insouciance et de tous les possibles !
Qu’il repose en paix auprès de sa fille Jacinthe.
